It depends on how hard you&#8217;re training. I wouldn&#8217;t go low carb though with a high energy workout like running. You can get great energy from fruit, which is also high in carbs but great for you. If you wanna lose weight though I&#8217;d suggest cross-training with swimming or biking a couple times a week. Running doesn&#8217;t burn nearly as many calories as it should for all of the effort involved.</p>

<p>There are many things in our society today that are causing disease, illnesses, and ailments. The main reason for so many conditions in our world is the food we eat. Foods loaded with pesticides and other toxins are slowly killing our bodies rendering our immune system too weak to handle the onslaught of disease that enters through various avenues.</p>
<p>One of the best defenses for the body is whole organic foods. Organic fruits and vegetables are not genetically modified.  Organic plants are grown with no pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste or sewage sludge and they have been processed without ionizing radiation or food additives. Organic meat has been raised without antibiotics or the use of growth hormones. In other words, organic foods are produced naturally without any man-made chemicals.</p>
<p>Knowing this, there are so many reasons why eating organic foods is beneficial.</p>
<p> Your body can fight disease, bacteria and viruses when it is fed organic food. There are no chemicals in the food and you are adding a more wholesome option when you eat organic. Many of the chemicals found in non-organic foods have been linked to many types of cancer. By eating more organic foods, your body will be healthy and in turn you have more strength and energy.</p>
<p> Organic foods contain at least 50% more nutrients, vitamins, and minerals than their non-organic counterparts. Food that has been chemically altered in any way has far less nutritional value and therefore is not as healthy for your body.</p>

Eating a diet rich in organic foods help to assure that your child will mature as nature intends.</p>

Researchers gave a group of twenty-four people either a low carbohydrate diet consisting of twenty percent carbohydrates and sixty percent fat or a low fat diet with fat restricted to twenty percent or less. Although both groups lost weight and experienced reduced insulin resistance, the group that followed the low carb diet experienced an unexpected change in the degree of flexibility of their arteries – raising concerns about heart and blood vessel health. It seems that the low carb dieters developed stiffer arterial blood vessels which could increase their risk for heart and blood vessel disease. Stiffened arteries have even been associated with a higher risk of dementia.</p>

<p>Researchers involved in this study caution that this is a small study and more research is needed to confirm this finding, but if further studies come to the same conclusion it could speak poorly for the safety of low carb dieting. The good news is the arteries actually became less stiff in the group who ate a low fat diet.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s always been some concern about the popularity of low carb dieting due to the long term effects this type of diet could have on the heart. Heck yeah they work, that&#8217;s how I lost 40 pounds.  I would say under 100 grams of carbs a day is a low carb diet.  You can&#8217;t start eating regular again, what I mean is you still have to watch what you eat because that&#8217;s how you got overweight is by eating the wrong things or too much of them.  So you can eat nomally with carbs and stuff but just watch your total calorie intake.  Keep an eye on your waist and if it starts getting too big cut back.</p>

<p>Using coconut flour is another way to cut down on carbs. Coconut flour, which is low in carbs, can be used in place of white and wheat flour. You can still enjoy baked goods, pancakes, and other baked goods that use flour this way. Refined flour doesn&#8217;t work as part of a low carb diet. Coconut flour, however, is a great substitute. Not to mention, coconut is rich in various nutrients. Coconut water makes a great health drink, for example. Using this flour means you can eat regular breakfast foods and not worry about the carb count.</p>
<p>Another easy way to cut down on carbs is to use a bowl instead of a tortilla. Sure you&#8217;ll have to do a few more dishes this way, but isn&#8217;t it worth it if it help you cut down on your carbs? You serve dishes from fajitas to breakfast burritos out of a bowl and they will taste delicious. You still cook everything the same, but rather than putting everything into a tortilla, you use a bowl.</p>
<p>This works for pretty much everything, except for a quesadilla. A bowl of melted cheese isn&#8217;t an appetizing meal. Tons of people think that they only have to eat a low carb diet and they are healthy. This is false. When you are on a low carb diet, you have to make sure that you are getting enough vitamins and nutrients and that you don&#8217;t eat too many calories. One of the reasons that eating a low carb diet is difficult is that most of the things we crave when we want to snack are filled with the bad carbs. If you get used to making good decisions; however, you&#8217;ll find that eating a low carb diet is easier than you think!</p>

<p>Do you know how much junk food you are eating every single day? And do you understand that junk food is really junk?</p>
<p>It is not only junk for our physical well being. It is also junk food for our overall well being or its contrary. In fact, many of the foods you intake every single day, contribute to your not well being. It may contribute to your various difficulties at a physical and at a mental level, not to  mention  your psychical and emotional  level.. It has been renowned now for some decades that the human being consists of various parts: the physical body, the brain with the mental and its spiritual part And not to be forgotten, the emotional part.  You cannot take these as single parts of a person as they are just  intrinsic  of the person.  They all need fuel in order to function well. Good fuel is not junk food. Good fuel is not necessarily organic food but it is natural food. Natural food means food stuff that has not been processed.  Food that can be consumed either in its raw form or, if prepared and cooked, prepared and cooked in a simple way. Without the addition of too much oil and/or flour nor of too much sugar, especially the white one.</p>
<p>It means that our food should not be deep fried. .Among the deep fried junk food we find especially French fries. These are mostly prepared with low quality oils. And often with exhausted oils that have been used many times to deep fry whatever came their way. If you prepare your meals at home, you can eat French fries once in a while because you know that if you use fresh and quality oil, it&#8217;s ok. Another often encountered junk food is hamburgers. Again, they are deep fried. The quality of the meat is often very bad.</p>
<p>Just a word about the components of junk food: if taken separately, the ingredients of junk food may even be normal food. It is the way of their treatment, processing and cooking which often creates junk food. If you cooked your potatoes in a steamer or had them transform in hash browns, they certainly would not be junk food but highly valuable food. The same can be said of hamburgers. If you cook the individual parts of the hamburger mixture, separating the meats and cook them as short fried meat to eat together with pasta and without adding any ketchup, but maybe just a fresh tomato, you can eat a satiable, healthy  meal.</p>
<p>And it can go on and on.</p>
<p>Apart from the salty junk foods, there is a huge range of sweets that are nothing else but junk. When you are suffering from anxiety or panic attacks, you often eat these junk sweets because they give you immediate satisfaction. However, the satisfaction does not last long and so you put more of them into your stomach. What you are not aware of is that this sweet stuff gives you too much sugar and hardened fats. Both these food stuffs are no good for you.  Especially if you tend to put on weight, you should watch it and not eat these sweets. Sugar has a tendency to be transformed by your body into fat. And the hardened fats are dangerous for your heart. So, stay away from these kinds of sweets. It is better for you to eat a fresh fruit. It satisfies you as far as your hunger for sweet is concerned and it gives your body what it needs. Instead of a fruit, you could also eat a handful of nuts. They give you a wealth of good nutrients and satisfy your longing for sweets.</p>

there should be no &#8220;bad&#8221; or &#8220;good&#8221; foods. it all depends on how we eat them, and how good our judgement is towards correct portions. everyone can enjoy a treat now and then, but in moderation. and no food is good for anyone one if you overcomsume it. Balance in itself is the way to a healthier lifestyle.</p>

<p>Food is important for the body. It is the source of energy and nutrients. It can give useful minerals and vitamins used by the different body parts to work well. There are times when eating becomes bad. Excessive fats can form eventually causes serious illnesses. Junk food is one of the groups of food that does not give nutrients and even no nutritional value. Yet, with the information given for consumers still more people eat it. A closer look into junk food will give us idea and reason to forget junk foods.</p>
<p>Types of junk food</p>
<p>It is also known as convenient food since they are ready to eat and some are ready to cook food. Usually, these are in the form of chips. It is artificially flavoured with salt and cheese. It comes in different shape and taste. Some claim to have sugar and salt in it but still it gives no good effect to the body. Another type of this group of food is food usually served in fast foods. Most of the food is deep-fried like burgers, chicken and hotdog. The method of cooking makes the food to have fatter and it is not good for consumption. It usually causes health risks to heart, blood and nerves. Drinks that have too much caffeine content are also included in the group of junk foods. Aside from this content, they also have high sugar content which is not good for the body. Enough sugar will be converted into energy but too much will definitely have adverse effect to the body.</p>
<p>Effect of too much salt and sugar</p>
<p>These foods have abundant salt. It is scientifically known as sodium. It serves as electrolyte that helps the circulation of blood in the body. Necessarily, this element must be proportion with the consumption of the potassium to have better effects. The equalizer of salt is fruits that are rich in potassium to produce energy and help in the circulation of blood. If one eats more junk food, there is a possibility to have more salt in the body. It causes higher risk of having kidney failure and increase in uric acid.</p>
<p>Sugar is important in producing energy to be used by the body. There are different sources of sugar such as rice and bread. If more sugar will be taken it will increase the danger of having diabetes, high blood pressure and hypertension. This is not ideal at all. And when more junk food will be taken, more sugar will be stored in the body forming fats. It is necessary to watch the intake of food to monitor the intake of every part of the food pyramid is taken in balance.</p>
<p>Illnesses caused by eating too much junk food</p>
<p>First on the list is obesity because the additional sugar is left in the body and form into fats. Heart diseases are next since the fats form can block the arteries. They block the nerves and obstruct the smooth circulation of blood in the body. And when more fats block the nerves and arteries it is the root of mild strokes. It affects as well the production of insulin causing diabetes.</p>
<p>It is important to be very careful in choosing the right food. Choose foods that are nutritious and helpful to the body to stop the cause of health disorders. It is better to prevent them before it is too late.</p>

I am a Unitarian, and the food of my religion appear to be junk foods because the spiritual qualities are also religious.  Even if they are nutritious, is it a good idea to ration them, or eat them in small quantities, because of their halluciogenic properties?  I know that junk foods are unhealthy, and I do not eat such foods, but a Big Mac can be mistaken for a garage burger of sorts.  Please help me draw the line such as, &#8220;One makes you fat, the other makes you high.  One has cholesterol, the other has LSD&#8221; and so on.  Given the obesity epidemic, I do not wish for an underground movement to replace all fast food chains if fast food was outlawed, especially to ensure the health of our fellow citizens.  Please help, for I am also a professional chef, and I pray to Gaia for someone with a heart to answer with the best of his abiilities.  May we be blessed with  the bounties of Gaia as long as we live.</p>
